In 1875 twelve tenders were received for the building of the pier these ranged from £2,205.00 - £4,097.00.
Work on building Yarmouth, Isle of Wight Pier started in 1875 and was officially opened by The Mayor of Yarmouth in 19th July 1876.
Although recentley the pier has been shortened because of the original landing becoming unrepairable. The new landing stage was built, thus enabling pleasure boats to still moor at the end of the pier to continue bringing day visitors to the Isle of Wight.
